Shikha Pandey returns to ICC ODI Bowling Rankings top 10 list

International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the Ranking on Tuesday where Indian and Australian players have gained a lot of points. Indian pace spearhead Shikha Pandey has broken into the top 10 of the ICC Women’s ODI bowlers’ rankings whereas the opener Smriti Mandhana and veteran pace bowler Jhulan Goswami remained unchanged in their rankings. She remained at fifth place with 681 points, whereas Poonam Yadav (641) stayed at eighth place. Notably, this is Shikha Pandey's career-best ODI bowling ranking.

Smriti Mandhana is currently at seventh with 710 points, whereas the ODI captain Mithali Raj placed at eighth with 709 points in the batter’s rankings. England opener Tammy Beaumont (765) placed at the top spot as well On the other hand, Australia's swashbuckling opener Alyssa Healy has jumped to a career-best ranking of the third with a whopping 753 points. From New Zealand, ODI opener Lauren Down’s previous highest ODI score of 90 lifted her up 55 places to place at 62 as well.

Her teammate, all-rounder Ellyse Perry also crossed the 700-point barrier with her innings of unbeaten 56 recently against New Zealand in the first ODI. Another all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner’s unbeaten 53 from just 41 balls helped her to back into the top 30 of the ICC rankings for the very first time as well. Among all-rounders, India player Deepti Sharma was the only Indian cricketer to be featured in the top 10 at the fifth place with 343 points as well.

As far as the bowling Ranking is concerned for ODI, Australia speedster Megan Schutt’s 4/32 helped her to place above South Africa pace bowler Marizanne Kapp into second place. Meanwhile, Australia all-rounder Nicola Carey who took 3-34 also gained in the rankings as she moved to a career-best 37th place in the ODI women’s bowler rankings as well.

As far as international cricket is concerned, the three-match ODI series between New Zealand and Australia is going on and a few changes in the rankings can be seen soon as well.
