Adult website Pornhub cheekily offers to buy the naming rights of Barcelona’s Camp Nou

Although all sports activity have been halted all over the world due to the novel Coronavirus pandemic, world sports has seen many charities and helping hands towards fighting the virus outbreak. Recently, La Liga elites FC Barcelona announced to sell the naming rights of their home turf, the famous Camp Nou, to raise money for fighting the COVID-19 crisis. And guess who is an eager customer? The infamous adult website Pornhub!

Following a tweet by ESPN FC on Barcelona’s decision, the official Twitter handle of the adult website ‘Pornhub ARIA’ are making a sassy hint at being the buyers of Camp Nou’s naming rights, and changing it to ‘Pornhub Stadium’.

The comments were flooded with netizens, who were on board with the new proposed name of the historic football ground.

However, only time will tell if the bizarre proposal actually turns into reality, or the naming rights will go elsewhere.

The decision was announced on Tuesday, along with a €300 million renovation plan of expanding the stadium capacity up to 105,000 seats, and other facilities.

“We want to send a universal message: For the first time someone will have the opportunity to put their name on Camp Nou and the revenues will go to all of humanity, not just Barca,” Jordi Cardoner, the vice president of the club said on Tuesday.

“The initiative arose in an emergency situation. We think that we have to have a very quick response, putting our crown jewel at the service,” Cardoner added.

Spain has been one of the worst hit countries in the Coronavirus outbreak, with over 2,00,00 confirmed cases, and an alarming death toll of 21,282, third highest in the world.

The money raised from selling the the stadium’s title rights will be donated to various charities in the country.

Located in Carrer d’Arístides Maillol in Barcelona, Camp Nou, meaning ‘new ground’, has been the home stadium of the Blaugrana since 1957. With a capacity of capacity of 99,354, it is the largest stadium in Europe, and the third largest football stadium in the world.
